HAKOMI MINDFUL SOMATIC THERAPY
Hakomi, developed by Ron Kurtz in 1970s, is an experiential, somatic psychotherapy method based on mindfulness, nonviolence, unity, organicity and mind-body integration.
Hakomi aims to change core material, such as images, beliefs, memories, neuronal patterns and emotions.
Its principles are influenced by Buddhism and Taoism.

Hakomi takes elements from general system theory, as well as a variety of body-centred therapies, such as Gestalt, Psychomotor, Feldenkrais, Focusing, Ericksonian Hypnosis, Neurolinguistic Programming and more.

Body sensations and emotions are mindfully explored and felt experiences provided. Essential for the method is the therapist's attitude of loving presence.
